The CI
Approach
Citizens International takes a unique approach to development consulting and program management. At the heart of this approach is the recognition that long-term benefits from development initiatives require collaboration among numerous stakeholder groups. While every development initiative includes a unique blend of stakeholder interests, cooperation among the following groups is essential:
Private Corporations and Host Country Public Institutions
• Effective partnerships with local governments yield “goodwill benefits”.
Corporate Headquarters and Country Business Units
• Appropriately structured support from corporate resources can enhance the results of investments made by country managers.
Multiple Funding Sources
• Leveraging funds from foundations and development agencies increases the size and impact of community development budgets.
Civil Society
• Incorporating key stakeholders from civil society – NGOs, community organizations, educational institutions, and faith-based groups – is fundamental to sustainable community development.
